Difficulties We Work With

What are Sleep Problems?

Sleep is a crucial part of our lives, and good sleep is extremely important for your physical and mental health.

Poor sleep can look different for everyone; however some common sleep difficulties include:

  • Difficulty falling asleep
  • Waking up feeling tired or having poor-quality sleep
  • Sleeping insignificant hours
  • Frequently waking up during the night
  • Waking up very early in the morning and finding it difficult to get back to sleep

If you are experiencing poor sleep or sleep difficulties, you may experience some of the following symptoms:

  • Feeling tired and fatigued during the day
  • Poor concentration or attention
  • Feeling irritable or having a short temper
  • Physical aches and pains in your muscles or bones
  • Increased anxiety and stress
  • Weakened immune system
  • Low mood
Over time, everyone develops good and bad sleeping habits. Good sleeping habits will allow us to feel rested and refreshed, however ongoing bad sleeping habits can impact us physically and mentally. As well as our own sleeping habits, our sleep can also be impacted by anxiety, medical problems, alcohol and drug use, negative expectations about sleep, tension or worry, and so much more.
