Infertility or Pregnancy Loss

Difficulties We Work With

Women who experience fertility challenges can often experience several mental health difficulties as a result. Fertility challenges can often result in anxiety and feelings of isolation, self-blame, and a sense of failure.

For some couples, there is a dream or pan that they have had about having children. Finding out that you are suffering with infertility can be one of the most painful journeys that some will experience throughout your life. Receiving this news is often the start of a long journey to build your family through assisted conception, alternative parenting paths or some will grieve the loss of a dream. Infertility affects millions of individuals and couples—and takes a heavy toll on their mental health.

Miscarriage and pregnancy loss can be a heartbreaking experience for most. When experiencing this loss, at any point of pregnancy, the overwhelming feelings of grief can bring intense sadness, anger, shock, guilt, isolation and often a sense of failure.

Pregnancy loss impacts a relationship as well as each parent individually. It is not just the loss of the baby, but often the dream or destination that pregnancy signified. Sometimes parents don’t tell other people about a pregnancy in the early stages so, when a loss occurs, it can increase loneliness and isolation. Finding the right supports is important.
